Oxygen mask from Flight 1549. Manufactured by Puritan-Bennett Aero Systems Co. in Lenexa, Kansas. The cup of the mask has yellow sides made of soft plastic. There is a shallow cup made of harder plastic which serves as the base which is translucent and has three circular nodes. There is a white elastic band attached to this base. There is also a small, protruding hole in the base which has a metal clip through it. A piece of white cord is threaded through this hole, and the cord is held in a loop through the hole by a smaller metal clip. The bag is translucent with black writing and images. On one side of the bag there is an image in black ink of a man in a suit and tie making use of the oxygen mask. On the other side, the same image appears, along with patent and manufacturing numbers, including the Roman numeral II in a box, all in black ink. There are two white cords which run through the inside of the bag and attach to the clear plastic tube at the end of the bag opposite the cup. At the end of the length of clear tube there is a small flow valve. Following this is a length of thicker tan tubing. Identifiers: Patent: 5,265,597 PBASCo. P/N: 174095-96 REV A.
